Apparently, according to ‘well-informed’ sources in the media, President Obama is a socialist with a secret agenda. Woah, hold your accusations just one second. Let’s get somethings straight. For one thing, Socialism does not automatically equal Communism, nor is it equivalent to Hitler’s National Socialism or the Soviet Union’s disastrous attempt at Communism. Socialism in its purest form is fit for a Utopia; it’s pretty much the ideal form of government where everyone is on an equal playing field. However, because humanity is inherently evil, socialism will not work in our society. So, I guess I understand why people are afraid of socialist ideas. Although, just because we implement socialist ideas into our governing system, it DOES NOT mean we will become ‘EVIL NAZIS’! I have a firm belief that our government will always be for the good of the people, or we will nip it in the butt before it gets out of hand. Yes, politicians are corrupt, but keep in mind that they are human. We are easily corrupted creatures. However, our system is such that not even the President himself has full power. We have checks and balances. But even Communism/Marxism in its purest form is a great idea. Granted, people turned it into a corrupt dictatorship where the dictator has absolute power and can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants to keep his ‘subjects’ in check, whether that means kill/torture a few people or smother the media, so be it.
Anyway, I digress. So what’s so bad about Universal Healthcare? For one, big insurance companies are all like, ‘Shit, we have to stop this or we’ll lose our private homes in Hawaii and our twenty cars!’ Other people are all, ‘DOWN HITLER OBAMA!’ Also, a lot of people are just doubtful that government won’t take over everything else once it takes over healthcare. I guess that is a good point. I mean, look at the Patriot Act. Some people hate it because it violates our right to privacy, but I bet the majority of people don’t think twice about the government violating the Constitution if it protects them from terrorists. So, I guess my point is when is it too much? Are we going to end up a technology-centered World State where the government controls everything and the citizens don’t even understand the concept of freedom (Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World)? At what point will the American people rise up and tell the government to STOP VIOLATING OUR RIGHTS!
However, look at healthcare as it is now. It sucks; a good percentage of Americans don’t have healthcare and are suffering for it. Now, tell me that doesn’t call for a reform of some kind. Perhaps not the extreme of Universal Healthcare, but at least SOMETHING! How can you, as a citizen, justify no reform at all? And what if it takes the government to slap the insurance companies in the face and force them to put some money back into the economy instead of spending billions of dollars on secret martian space colonies? What if we NEED Marxist ideas to pull us out of the whole we’ve dug ourselves in? Just because we’re Americans and Capitalist doesn’t mean we’re perfect. Our ignorance about certain ideas is causing us to suffer. For instance, sometimes it’s beneficial to have some things controlled. Anarchy would ruin us because, like I said, we’re incapable of governing ourselves because we’re easily corrupted. Also, we as people are not capable of always knowing what’s best for us. Believe it or not, Capitalism is just as bad and as corrupt Socialism put into action. Big business is really the enemy in our society if you really want to get technical. So, stop calling Obama an evil Nazi and a Socialist, you think-tanks who are actually pimps in disguise. Hypocrisy is not cool, nor is it flattering. You’re really just damning your own cause. If we can’t trust the people who are telling us this information, than how can we trust your campaign?
