This article was really well written. While it appealed to logos, it didn’t overburden the reader with information. It appealed to ethos because the reader is allowed to view the character of the different class structures in the United States. For example, we can see the somewhat poor character of the people who stand over maids, waiting for them to miss a spot just so they can point it out. We can also judge the strong character of the maids who have to put up with such nonsense. We also view the character of the author herself since she took it upon herself to become employed as a maid to get a more realistic perspective on the topic. This article appeals to the pathos by making us as a society feel guilty for becoming so out of touch that we have to hire others to clean our own homes. It could also make us disgusted that some don’t even know how to take care of themselves.
